How work flows with GeoSewerTrack

From project setup and employee access to plan editing and documentation, GeoSewerTrack provides a continuous digital workflow.

GeoSewerTrack is designed to make the path from project creation to ongoing processing as clear as possible.

The focus is not on offering the largest possible number of individual functions, but on a clear workflow: create the project, provide the data, approve employees, carry out the work and document the current status.

1. Create the project

Every workflow starts with the relevant project.

Within the GST instance, projects can be created for individual jobs, work areas or locations and then supplemented with the required information.

This creates a dedicated workspace for each job in which the associated drawings and processing information are brought together.

2. Provide drawings and plan data

Existing sewer and pipeline plans can be provided within the project.

GeoSewerTrack then uses these drawings as the digital working basis.

The existing plan data therefore does not have to remain a static file. Relevant sections and elements can be selected within the GST interface and used for further processing.

3. Approve employees for the project

Not every user of a GST instance automatically receives access to every project that has been created.

The employees intended for a job are specifically approved for the relevant project.

This makes it possible, for example, to define which teams, employees or responsible persons may work on a particular job.

Only after this approval does the project become accessible to the respective user.

4. Assign permissions according to the task

In addition to project approval, employee permissions can be restricted further.

It can be defined whether a user may only read certain information or may also add new content, edit existing content or delete it.

This allows different areas of responsibility within a project to be represented.

An employee working operationally in the field can, for example, receive different permissions from project management or from a member of Staff with extended rights.

5. Select the relevant areas in the plan

Within a drawing, the areas relevant to the respective job can be selected specifically.

This can include individual pipeline sections or other existing drawing elements that need to be viewed and processed.

Layers that are not required can be hidden so that the display is reduced to the information that is currently important.

Especially with extensive plans, this improves orientation and prevents relevant information from disappearing among a large number of drawing elements.

6. Add work areas and information

Additional information can be added directly within the digital working environment while the project is being processed.

Depending on the enabled range of functions, this can include, for example:

  • markings,
  • areas,
  • additional lines,
  • labels,
  • comments,
  • status information, and
  • GPS-related information.

This allows information to be stored where it is actually required: directly in connection with the relevant plan or work area.

7. Document the processing status

GeoSewerTrack is not only intended for preparing a job.

During ongoing processing, information can be added and existing details can be updated.

This creates a traceable working status within the project.

Employees do not have to rely exclusively on information being passed on verbally or maintained separately in other documents.

Instead, the GST instance provides a shared working basis.

8. Continue using changes together

Additions made within a project are available to appropriately authorised employees within the same GST environment.

This means a job can be processed by several people without a new copy of the plan having to be distributed for every individual step.

For example, one employee can add information that another employee later uses for further processing.

From the job to a shared working basis

A typical GeoSewerTrack workflow can therefore be summarised as follows:

Create the project.

Provide the drawing.

Approve employees and define permissions.

Select the relevant areas.

Carry out the work and document information.

Continue working together with the current status.

GeoSewerTrack therefore connects the original technical drawing with the information generated during the actual job.

A plan becomes an ongoing digital working basis for all authorised participants in the project.
